20 fruit flies, mold-like growth, dried fat: Cumberland County restaurant inspections

The following Cumberland County restaurants violated Pennsylvania health and safety rules during inspections between November 22 and November 28.

Inspections are supervised by the Department of Agriculture. The ministry notes that in many cases violations are corrected by the restaurant before the inspectors leave.

KFC # 50

– Food debris and crumbs at the bottom of the cooler on the cooking line.

–Surfaces not in contact with food are not cleaned at a frequency that prevents the accumulation of dirt and soil. Grease buildup on handles and exterior areas of coolers and other affected equipment continuously throughout the day.

–The light intensity in the cold room is not at least 10 foot candles.

– Food workers observed in cooking / preparation area, not wearing appropriate restraints, such as nets, hats or beard covers. Corrected on site.

– Buildup of food debris, grease and residue on shelves and sink surfaces around hand washing, dishwasher and dishwasher areas.

–Old unused equipment stored in the kitchen and basement should be removed from the food facility.

– Broken plastic shelves in the cold room on the ground floor.

– Loose rubber door seals observed on the maintenance cooler on the cooking line cooling unit.

–Grease and drip on suppression lines, light shields, bottom of catch plate and metal lip above filters in hood system.

–The plastic cutting board on the top of the cooler on the cooking line area has brown discoloration and excessive scratches caused by knife cuts.

–Slow leak in the hose under the hand wash sink in the women’s restroom. Water being taken in a bucket below. Broken back end of the faucet at the hand wash sink in the kitchen.

–Approximately 20 fruit flies seen around hand washing, dishwasher and dishwasher areas.

– Food debris, garbage and debris on floor surfaces under dishwashing and dishwasher areas.
