Firefighters deal with a major fire in the Bagillt recycling unit > News

People living near a recycling unit in Bagillt are advised to close windows and doors due to a major fire that has broken out.

Firefighters are tackling the blaze next to the A548 and say they ‘will be there for a while tonight’.

Images and video posted to social media at around 8.30pm show thick black smoke rising from the Dee Bank Industrial Estate unit next to the A548.

The lane of the road linked to Flint has been closed, police have asked people to avoid the area.

In a statement, the North Wales Fire and Rescue Service said: ‘We are currently dealing with a fire at a recycling unit at the Dee Bank Industrial Estate in Bagillt and we are likely to be present for a some time tonight.”

“Please avoid the area if you can – the eastbound A548 has been closed following the incident.”

“We are monitoring for smoke, but recommend closing windows and doors as a precaution if you are concerned.”

North Wales Police released a statement, it said: ‘We are currently dealing with a large fire at the Dee Bank Bagillt Industrial Estate Recycling Plant.

“This could cause traffic disruptions, so please avoid the area.”

A local traffic report read: ‘Road closed due to fire at Dee Bank Industrial Estate recycling unit on the A548 in both directions from the A5026 to Manor Industrial Estate. Traffic is doing well. »
